Remember that line in Jerry McGuire - “You had me at hello” - well, the Oktoberfest / Halloween menu at The Ribbon (located at 20 W. 72nd St.on the UWS) “had me” at the “hello” of the first dish. Put a warm, soft pretzel on my plate and I’m yours for the rest of the evening. Pretzels - instead of the customary bread and butter - now that’s a German innovation that, by all rights, should conquer the world, even more so with the Ribbon’s specially-prepared mustard. After this, a plain-old dinner roll will never seem quite so satisfying.
