Since its foundation in 1993, Da Nico has been a staple of the New York community. This hidden gen tucked away along Little Italy’s Mulberry Street and has have served countless native New Yorker's including many celebrities, sports heroes and politicians.

Da Nico features excellent Italian homemade food derived from authentic family recipes. It has been family owned and operated since it opened. You feel welcome immediately upon arrival as the staff treats you like family. Owners Annette and Nicky make it clear to all that their customers are their number one priority!

The food here is the star for sure, but Da Nico has an atmosphere that delivers too. The large bar in the dining room is open and roomy and the décor is authentic family Italian. And it’s always fun to take a moment and browse the wall of photos of the many famous diners who’ve passed through here. Da Nico features and outdoor garden, as weather permits, that offers one NYC’s absolutely best al fresco dining experiences. If you can get a table in the Garden, we highly recommended it!

Da Nico’s menu features all of your Italian favorites, of course. However, they go the extra mile when it comes to the fresh ingredients they use in each and every each dish. Their reputation has been built around their food and it only take the first bite or you to instantly be able to tell the difference.

Before we dive into the menu I must also point out that Da Nico’s also offers incredible brick oven pizzas. You’ll note the famous oven located just behind the bar as you enter the restaurant. Each pizza on the menu is a star in its own right and you’ll find it hard to choose. One of our favorites is the Pizza Prosciutto & Arugula
with tomato sauce, fresh mozzarella, prosciutto and arugula. Unbelievable! They’re open to accommodating special requests too!

Appetizers at Da Nico range from salads and antipasti to clam dishes and calamari and several vegetable preparations. Their list of homemade soups is full of Italian classics. I always find it hard not to have the Pasta e Fagioli but rest assured that all are a sure bet so choose whatever fits your mood and you’ll be smiling for sure.

The menu is offers a wide range of veal, pork, chicken and beef choices all complimented with appropriate vegetables and pastas. For those inclined, Da Nico offers whole wheat and gluten free pasta as an option.

Two of our favorite dishes are the Vitello de Nico, veal scaloppini sautéed with mushrooms, artichokes and sherry wine sauce, and the Pollo alla Nico, Chicken breast stuffed with spinach and mozzarella in a light rosemary potato crust.

Da Nico`s food is known for its freshness and flavor. If you have a favorite dish that is not on the menu, please ask them and their chef is happy to accommodate you whenever they can.

Dining at Da Nico is a memorable event for the food alone, as we’ve said. However, the combination of the atmosphere surrounding the historic Little Italy neighborhood and the authentic ambiance of the dining room and the beautiful outdoor garden make Da Nico a restaurant you’re gong to continue to return to for many years!
