Best Things To Do in NYC

When Vlado, one of the doormen at my apt building here in Manhattan, started telling me stories about serving John Lennon, Andy Warhol and a long list of other well-known celebrities when he worked at Emilio's Ballato Italian restaurant many years ago, I knew I had to see this place for myself.

If you’re looking for a local New York experience, plan a day at the Chelsea Market. This is a great way to experience a destination frequented by locals, and many of the products and restaurants sold at the market have local origins. The Chelsea Market is an exciting place to visit, so spend an afternoon or evening perusing
all it has to offer. It's all indoors, keep it in mind when it’s hot, cold, raining or snowing.

Where do you find the best Jazz in NYC? In the basement! Every great jazz club in the city is below street level it seems. The Iridium, located below Ellen’s Stardust Diner at the corner of W. 51st St. and Broadway is certainly one of the best! And that says a lot as there a more exceptional jazz clubs here than anywhere in the word!

It must be fate that the best country music clubs and honky tonks in both Nashville and NYC are located on a street named Broadway! The Opry City Stage is the newest and largest country music venue in New York City. Located on Broadway near the corner of W. 50th St. and under the bright lights of Times Square, this landmark venue brings the heart and soul of country music to the heart of the Big Apple.

NYC pizza is not only the best but it is a necessity to the way of life in and around Manhattan. There is no better dish to fit into a busy schedule or tight budget. In fact, New York City is where the first pizza was sold in the United States and the first pizzeria was Lombardi’s!
