Through the Heavenly Harvest foundation, Chef Doherty recently completed his first distribution of 50,000 healthy, shelf-stable meals to American families in need who live in NYC, Boston, and Chicago, with more to come. Distributed in partnership with Feed the Children, each meal exceeds USDA nutritional recommendations without the use of preservatives or artificial ingredients. In honor of Hunger Action month, Chef Doherty is resuming his program to feed children in need.
Each meal is carefully crafted by award-winning Chef John Doherty and contains approximately 20 grams of protein in addition to high levels of iron, calcium, and vital nutrients like Vitamins A and C.
Just $1.40 can feed a child for an entire day, but the delicious flavor of Heavenly Harvest meals is perfect for anyone in the family!
His Red Beans and Rice and Three Bean Chili recipe will help thousands of families in need. Further meals are in development, and will be distributed through similar organizations.
