This is a release party (doubling as a birthday party) for the exceptional young French singer, Chloé Perrier, and her new album with the French Heart Jazz Band. Everything about her music is light and effortless - the lilting quality of her voice, her floating rhythm, and the effervescent playing of the band. Even though she sings mostly in French, us non-speaking Anglos will have no problem following her through familiar songs - even the normally epic and dour “La Vie en Rose” (which we expect to be optimistic but heavy) sounds, in her rendition, as light and breezy as a petite fleur. Her multi-national ensemble features the outstanding Romani-style jazz violinist Gabe Terracciano, along with guitarist Akira Ishiguro, Australian reed nabob Jon Hunt, bassist Philip Ambuel, and drummer Rodrigo Reccabaren.
